DSTV Installation Across Gauteng

Full same-day DSTV installation including dish mounting, signal alignment, decoder pairing and cable routing by accredited technicians.

A proper DSTV installation sets the foundation for every channel, every recording, and every Sunday-afternoon rugby match that follows. Do it right once and the hardware quietly does its job for years. Do it badly and you end up in the familiar Gauteng loop of rain-fade, pixel-drops, and an installer who stopped answering the phone three months ago. DSTV Pro Installers runs a tight, MultiChoice-accredited standard install across the 28 Gauteng suburbs we cover, and we finish the overwhelming majority of jobs in a single visit.

Most installs in our area fall into the same bracket — a single-dish, single-decoder setup on a face-brick or plaster home, with the dish mounted high enough to clear trees and the neighbouring double-storey. We spend the extra ten minutes getting the alignment right the first time. The payoff for you is a signal quality reading north of 90 percent, which is what you need to ride out the short, sharp Highveld storms without losing SuperSport halfway through a Test match.

When you need this

  • 01Moving into a new home in a Northern Johannesburg or Pretoria East suburb where the previous owner took the dish with them.
  • 02New-build handover in Silver Lakes, Waterkloof, or one of the estates where the developer roughed in conduit but didn't install.
  • 03Replacing an older analogue dish that came with the house years ago and was never properly aligned.
  • 04A student room, granny flat, or cottage that needs its own dish separate from the main house's Extra View setup.

Where we cover this service

We run standard DSTV installations across Sandton, Centurion, Moreleta Park, Fourways, Bedfordview and the other 22 Gauteng suburbs on our coverage list — and we carry the hardware on the vehicle, so most bookings finish in a single visit.

For Southgate residents we offer our Southgate DSTV team; Fourways bookings go through Fourways DSTV specialists.

Common questions

How long does a standard DSTV installation take?+

Two to three hours on a single-storey home, closer to four on a double-storey or where the dish has to clear tall trees. We book a half-day window to be safe.

Do I need to buy the decoder and dish first?+

No. Every vehicle carries HD decoders, Explora decoders, LNBs, and dishes in stock. We'll confirm what package suits you over the phone and bring it with us.

Will the cable run be visible on my wall?+

We'll do our best to hide it. On face-brick we chase into the mortar, on plastered walls we clip neatly along skirtings, and on new builds we pull through pre-laid conduit wherever we can.

Typical pricing

Standard single-room installations start at R1,650 including hardware. A double-storey mount or a long cable run may add R200-R500 — the technician will confirm on site before starting work.
