Extra TV Point Installation Across Gauteng

Add a new DSTV outlet in any bedroom, patio or man-cave with a multiswitch upgrade, clean cabling and a new decoder point.

An extra TV point is the quiet upgrade that makes the biggest difference to how you actually use your home. A neat HDMI, aerial, or DSTV feed in the bedroom or study means you no longer have to move the decoder when you want to watch in another room, and you don't have to live with a cable draped across the passage. Done properly, it takes a couple of hours and leaves the wall looking as if the socket had always been there.

Most of the extra TV points we run in Gauteng are in face-brick or plastered-brick homes, where we chase the cable into the wall, re-plaster, and repaint to match. We also do a fair number in the lighter drywall construction common in newer Centurion estates, where the cable can be fished between the studs without a chase at all. Either way, the socket ends up flush, the cable stays hidden, and the work is neat enough to pass a property inspection.

Common questions

How long does an extra TV point take?+

Two to three hours on a standard internal wall, closer to four if the cable run is long or has to go through the roof void. Same-day finish in almost every case.

Will there be a visible patch on the wall afterwards?+

On plastered walls we re-plaster and dab paint from the tin you provide — it usually blends in completely. On untreated face-brick the chase is very neat and we repoint to match.

Can you run the cable outside the wall if I don't want it chased?+

Yes — we use slim white trunking that can be painted to match, and we clip it along skirtings and cornices where possible. It's the quicker and cheaper option if you don't mind seeing the channel.

Typical pricing

An extra TV point starts at R950 for a short internal run. Longer runs, chased installations, and outdoor weatherproofed points typically run R1,450-R2,500.
